Structural Design Engineer
We are seeking a motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our growing structural engineering team in Dubai.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Structural Design Engineer to join our growing structural engineering team in Dubai. The successful candidate will design safe, economical, and code-compliant structural systems across residential, commercial, industrial, and fit-out projects — from concept through to authority submission and construction-ready drawings.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on design experience to develop their career within a UAE consultancy environment, working across a variety of project types and gaining direct exposure to Dubai authority approval processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Structural Design
- Design reinforced concrete, structural steel, and composite structural systems.
- Design foundations, slabs, beams, columns, retaining walls, and staircases.
- Prepare structural calculations in accordance with the Dubai Building Code, ACI, Eurocode, and other relevant international standards.
- Optimize structural designs for safety, buildability, and cost efficiency.
2. Structural Analysis
- Perform structural analysis using ETABS, SAFE, STAAD.Pro, and IDEA StatiCa.
- Analyze gravity, wind, seismic, and other applicable load cases.
- Prepare structural design reports and calculation packages for internal review and authority submission.
3. Structural Drafting
- Prepare structural drawings, including general arrangement (GA) drawings, foundation plans, reinforcement drawings, and structural details.
- Review drawings prior to client and authority submission.
- Ensure all drawings are fully consistent with approved calculations.
4. Client Coordination
- Attend technical meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
- Clearly explain structural solutions and design rationale to clients.
- Provide sound engineering recommendations.
- Support the sales/business development team in technical discussions.
5. Quality Assurance
- Review all calculations prior to issue.
- Verify that drawings comply with company standards and relevant Dubai authority requirements (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, Civil Defense, etc.).
- Maintain and update calculation templates and design checklists.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 1–2 years of structural design experience (UAE consultancy experience preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steel design principles.
- Familiarity with Dubai authority codes, standards, and submission requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
